Overtime in Saudi Arabia is a codified right, not a favor: Article 107 of the Labor Law mandates extra pay equal to the basic hourly wage plus 50% — that is, 150% for every additional hour. This calculator tells you exactly what you're owed.
Como funciona
Enter your basic monthly wage and overtime hours. The calculator derives the hourly rate by dividing by 240 (30 days × 8 hours, the common practical convention), then multiplies by 1.5 and the number of hours.
A fórmula
Computed on the basic wage. Statutory hours are 8 per day and 48 per week (6 daily for Muslims in Ramadan); anything beyond counts as overtime, as does work on rest days and holidays.
Exemplo resolvido
An employee with a SAR 6,000 basic wage works 10 overtime hours: hourly rate = 6,000 ÷ 240 = 25, so overtime due = 25 × 1.5 × 10 = SAR 375 that month.
Perguntas frequentes
Is working on Friday or Eid all overtime?
Work on the weekly rest day or official holidays is treated as overtime at 150%, unless a substitute rest day is granted in the cases the law permits.
Can a contract say the salary is 'inclusive of overtime'?
Agreements that waive the statutory minimum are void. Averaging arrangements are allowed in specific cases, but you cannot validly receive less than the legal rate for actual hours worked.
Is there a cap on overtime hours?
Yes — regulations cap annual overtime (720 hours unless the employee consents to more). Exceeding limits without consent is a violation reportable to the Ministry of Human Resources.
Dividing by 240 is the prevailing practice; some establishments differ in details. In disputes, the labor office and amicable settlement are your recourse.
