How it works
The calculator adds goods, shipping and insurance to estimate customs value, then calculates customs duty using the entered rate. Duty and other charges are added to the VAT base, import VAT is calculated, and all components are combined into total landed cost.
The formula
Other fees may include declaration, brokerage, port, handling, inspection, storage and domestic-delivery costs. Currency movements, financing costs, penalties and delays are not included automatically.
Worked example
Goods worth SAR 100,000, shipping of SAR 8,000 and insurance of SAR 1,000 produce an estimated customs value of SAR 109,000. At a 5% duty rate, duty is SAR 5,450. With SAR 1,500 in other charges and 15% VAT on the applicable base, estimated landed cost is SAR 133,342.50.
