The Saudi Civil Retirement Calculator estimates retirement eligibility and pension for a Saudi civilian government employee while accounting for the major reform that took effect on 3 July 2024. Depending on the person's previous uncompensated service, age and service record at the reform date, the case may remain under the Civil Retirement System, fall under the transitional amendments to the current systems, or — for a new labour-market entrant with no previous uncompensated period — fall under the new Social Insurance System.
How it works
Enter your Gregorian date of birth and indicate whether you had previous uncompensated service before 3 July 2024. Where previous service exists, enter the service months recorded at the reform date so the calculator can classify the applicable path. For the civil/current path, select rank and salary grade and enter service years and months. For the new-system path, enter total contribution months and the pension-average wage applicable to your record. Retirement, early-retirement and medical paths use the additional fields displayed for the selected case, including covered-work status and medical-committee decisions where required.
The formula
For people with earlier uncompensated service, the July 2024 amendments apply to the group meeting the reform-date age and service criteria; GOSI describes that group as below 50 Hijri years with fewer than 240 contribution months. Other previous-service cases remain outside those amendments. New entrants with no previous uncompensated civil/GOSI period fall under the new system. Under that system the statutory pension age is 65 Gregorian years, at least 180 contribution months are required for the age-based pension, and early retirement may be available up to ten years earlier with 360 months and the applicable pension reduction.
Worked example
For a current-system civil employee whose last monthly salary used by the calculator is SAR 10,000 and whose pensionable service is 24 years, the service pension estimate is 10,000 × 288 ÷ 480 = SAR 6,000 per month. A new-system contributor with a pension-average wage of SAR 10,000 and 240 contribution months has a base pension of 2.25% × 10,000 × 240 ÷ 12 = SAR 4,500 before any applicable minimum, early-retirement reduction or other statutory adjustment.
Frequently asked questions
How does the calculator decide whether I am under the civil, transitional or new system?
It uses previous uncompensated service together with the birth date and contribution months at 3 July 2024. A person entering the civilian labour market after the reform without an uncompensated previous period is treated under the new system, while previous-service cases are tested against the transition criteria.
How are non-occupational disability cases treated under the new system?
For disability while still in covered work, the calculator checks the contribution pattern, the required medical-committee decision and the age condition. The new system uses 12 continuous or 18 intermittent months for that path. A disability arising after covered work has ended follows a different contribution-duration rule. Official medical findings remain authoritative.
What is the assistance-of-others amount shown in some disability cases?
For an eligible new-system non-occupational disability occurring while covered, a separate medical finding may establish the need for another person's assistance. The calculator shows the allowance separately at 50% of the disability pension, capped at SAR 3,500 per month, and keeps the base pension visible separately.
This calculator is educational and does not replace an official GOSI pension or medical entitlement decision. The new-system occupational-injury branch for civilian public employees has a specific statutory implementation transition, so the calculator does not infer a separate new-system occupational-disability entitlement where the applicable official effective treatment has not been established in the entered case. Verify service records, reform classification, wage history, medical findings and the actual entitlement date through GOSI.
