Saudi Military Retirement Calculator

Calculate Saudi military retirement eligibility and estimated pension based on rank, grade, service and retirement path.

The Saudi Military Retirement Calculator estimates pension eligibility and monthly pension for Saudi military personnel using the retirement path, military category, rank, salary grade, Hijri age and service entered. Military retirement is not based on service length alone: the Military Retirement Law also recognises statutory retirement age, approved retirement requests, death and disability cases, while some medical cases use different pension percentages.

How it works

Choose whether you are an enlisted member or officer, then select the rank and salary grade. The calculator retrieves the basic salary used by its current salary matrix and determines the reference retirement age for the selected rank; officer cases can also account for pilot status where relevant. Enter your age in Hijri years and actual service in years and months, then choose normal, early, retirement-by-request/approval or medical retirement. For medical retirement, select whether the disability is unrelated to duty, a duty-related partial disability requiring separation, or a duty-related total disability.

The formula

Service pension = last basic salary × service months ÷ 420, capped at the last basic salary. Non-duty death or permanent medical separation = greater of the service pension or 70% of the last salary used by the calculator. Duty-related partial disability requiring separation = 80% of the applicable last salary; duty-related total disability = 100%.

The 420-month denominator is the monthly form of the Military Retirement Law rule of one thirty-fifth of the last basic salary for each year of pensionable service. Article 7 also contains entitlement paths based on actual military service, combined military and civil service, an approved retirement request, death, disability or reaching the statutory retirement age. The calculator evaluates only the information represented by its fields, so combined-service records, official approvals and medical determinations must be confirmed from the competent authority.

Worked example

If the last basic salary used for the estimate is SAR 10,000 and pensionable military service is 21 years, the service pension is 10,000 × 252 ÷ 420 = SAR 6,000 per month. If the same person is medically separated for a non-duty permanent disability, the calculator compares the service pension with 70% of the salary, or SAR 7,000, and uses the larger estimated amount.

Frequently asked questions

Does the calculator include military allowances in the pension salary?

No. The service-pension calculation is based on the basic salary value used by the calculator. Operational, housing, transport and other allowances should not be assumed to form part of the pension base unless the official rules for your case expressly provide otherwise.

Does choosing retirement by request mean my retirement is approved?

No. A calculator can test service conditions, but an official retirement request may require approval by the competent authority. The displayed result is not an administrative approval or entitlement certificate.

Who decides whether a military disability is partial, total or connected with duty?

The competent military medical and administrative authorities make that determination. The calculator only estimates the pension after you select the classification that applies to the case.

This is an educational pension estimate, not an official retirement decision. Verify pensionable service, rank, salary, retirement age, medical classification and any required approval with GOSI and the competent military authority. The military salary matrix used by the calculator is separately identified in the site's Trust information because its current complete matrix is based on a secondary-verified source.
