Saudi private-sector retirement is no longer governed by one identical set of thresholds for every contributor. Depending on the contributor's history at 3 July 2024, the applicable path may remain under the existing GOSI rules, fall under the transitional amendments to the current Social Insurance System, or fall entirely under the new Social Insurance System. This calculator uses your contribution history and age information to classify that path automatically before estimating eligibility and pension values.
How it works
Enter your Gregorian date of birth, total contribution months and the pension-calculation average wage that applies to your record. Indicate whether you had an uncompensated contribution period before 3 July 2024 and, where applicable, enter the contribution months recorded at that date. For existing and transitional cases, the calculator can also use months before 1 Muharram 1422H, eligible dependants and credited completion where the applicable rules permit it. For early retirement, cessation of covered work is also considered. Medical cases require the relevant disability inputs and medical-committee status.
The formula
The calculator determines the applicable system itself. A person with no uncompensated prior service before the reform is treated under the new system. Existing contributors may fall under the July 2024 transition when the official age and contribution conditions at the reform date apply; other prior-service cases remain under the existing/current rules. Under the new system the statutory age is 65 Gregorian years and the minimum contribution period at that age is 180 months. Early retirement can be available up to ten years before the statutory age when the required 360 contribution months and other conditions are satisfied.
Worked example
A new labour-market entrant after 3 July 2024 with no uncompensated previous contribution period is classified under the new system. A contributor who already had uncompensated service at the reform date may instead be classified under the transitional or existing path according to age and contribution months at that date. The calculator therefore does not ask the user to choose the authoritative pension system manually; it recalculates the classification from the entered history.
Frequently asked questions
How does the calculator decide whether I am under the existing, transitional or new system?
It uses whether uncompensated service existed before 3 July 2024 together with age and contribution months at the reform date. The classification is recalculated by the engine rather than trusting a manually selected system value.
Which wage should I enter for the pension estimate?
Enter the average wage applicable to the pension calculation for your case. Under the new system, GOSI states that the pension average is based on the highest 180 contribution months where applicable. This calculator does not reconstruct your complete historical wage record, so the official GOSI record remains authoritative.
Is the result an official confirmation that I can retire?
No. It is an educational estimate based on the information entered and the rules implemented in the calculator. Actual contribution records, compensated periods, employment status, medical determinations and the official entitlement date can change the final result. GOSI is the authoritative source.
GOSI itself notes that retirement-assistance results can be approximate and may differ according to actual contribution periods and the real pension-entitlement date. Verify any retirement decision through your official GOSI record and the rules in force when the benefit becomes due.
