Saudi Overtime Pay Calculator

150% of the basic hourly wage per the Labor Law.

Overtime in Saudi Arabia is a codified right, not a favor: Article 107 of the Labor Law mandates extra pay equal to the basic hourly wage plus 50% — that is, 150% for every additional hour. This calculator tells you exactly what you're owed.

How it works

Enter your basic monthly wage, the monthly working hours used to derive the hourly rate, and the overtime hours. The calculator divides the basic wage by the entered monthly working hours, then multiplies the hourly rate by 1.5 and the overtime hours. The default monthly-hours value is 240 and can be changed.

The formula

Overtime pay = (basic ÷ monthly working hours) × 150% × overtime hours

Computed on the basic wage. Statutory hours are 8 per day and 48 per week (6 daily for Muslims in Ramadan); anything beyond counts as overtime, as does work on rest days and holidays.

Worked example

Example: with a SAR 6,000 basic wage, 240 monthly working hours, and 10 overtime hours, the hourly rate is 6,000 ÷ 240 = SAR 25 and overtime pay is 25 × 1.5 × 10 = SAR 375.

The default value of 240 monthly hours is an editable calculation assumption. Use the monthly-hours basis applicable to your case, and consult the competent labor authority or amicable-settlement service in a dispute.

Frequently asked questions

Is working on Friday or Eid all overtime?

Work on the weekly rest day or official holidays is treated as overtime at 150%, unless a substitute rest day is granted in the cases the law permits.

Can a contract say the salary is 'inclusive of overtime'?

Agreements that waive the statutory minimum are void. Averaging arrangements are allowed in specific cases, but you cannot validly receive less than the legal rate for actual hours worked.

Is there a cap on overtime hours?

Yes — regulations cap annual overtime (720 hours unless the employee consents to more). Exceeding limits without consent is a violation reportable to the Ministry of Human Resources.
